Phobophobia

Growing up in South Africa, living less than an hour away from the ocean and other large expanses of water, fear of water is quite bemusing to me. Water is beautiful, associated with freedom, a place where happy memories are made, of summers spent splashing around with my brothers. For some however, large expanses of water provoke terror! What one person fears another can have a deep connection to. I have delved into the fears that surround me, whether they be my own or those of others. I focus on the fears that puzzle me the most, that make me wonder ‘why?’ and cause me to chuckle a little.
